The "high road" between Waimea and Kailua-Kona twists and bobs among the cinder cones and lava fields, with superb vistas of the Kohala Coast downhill (makai) from the high volcanic peaks at the center of the island. There are many pull-offs with decent room to park. On clear days, you can also see Haleakala on Maui peeking through the coastal clouds. Locals come here on New Year's and the 4th of July to watch the fireworks down at the resorts or stop briefly at sunset time to catch the elusive green flash.
Container is a nano with room for log only; bring your own pen to sign.
Congratulations to wholagal on being FTF!
