Out of the woods onto a minor road where there is a bridge over the reservoir. There isn't a lot of traffic but care should be taken none the less. You could park here and do the caches in a different order if you chose.
As you cross the bridge the old pre-dam bridge can be seen to the west in times of drought, though this has been fairly rare.
Take care crossing the bridge as it is of single track construction.
The cache terrain rating is based on a drive by. If you are doing the circular route its a 2.
The Baitings dam circular is a set of caches that form a pleasant, but sometimes muddy, walk around the dam.
If you are in a hurry you could get round them all in an hour, but it is worth taking your time and enjoying the walk.
The first, second and fifth of them are wheelchair access-able, the rest aren't.
At the time of placing the route has a variable feel to it. The southern side of the dam is a walk through pleasant woodland, while the north side has recently had its trees harvested and offers a more open view of the reservoir and its surroundings.
Thanks to Yorkshire Water for their kind permission to place these caches, and their help with all the caches we have placed on their turf.
....FTF goes to bluewhitereg. Thanks to all who seek the cache.
