Geocache Description:

Did you complete the Two State Challenge (GC26XA6)? Now you have a Three State Challenge! You must find 3 caches to complete this challenge. Find a geocache in three different states in three different cities with the SAME name. This cache is at the published coordinates and you must find it and sign the log before you can log it here. Please note that the muggle factor at this location will often be very high. Stealth will be very important.

Again, the requirement for the challenge is to have finds in three different towns/cities with the same name and they must be in three different states. Many of you already have met the requirements for this challenge. The hard part will be figuring out which matching cities you have finds in. You can find this cache and sign the log anytime, but you cannot log it online until you have met the requirements. FTF honors will go to the first cacher who signs the physical log and posts the online log with their qualifying information.

Yes, same pronunciation with different spellings will qualify. For instance, Belevue, Bellevue and Belleview will count as matches. And to make it a little easier, we will also disregard variances where the addition of the word "city" or "town" is the only difference. An example: Elizabeth, NJ, and Elizabeth City, NC, and Elizabethtown, PA, would count as a match. But remember they must be in three different states. You could not use both Elizabeth City, NC, and Elizabethtown, NC, since they are in the same state.

It is important to note, just like on the Two State Challenge, nowhere on this page is there any limitation to the United States of America. For instance, since France is, by definition, a "state", Paris, France, is a perfect match for Paris, TX, and Paris, MO. Also, each of the United Mexican States qualifies as a separate state and for this challenge, we will regard each of the Canadian provinces as another state. Thus, towns named Elkhorn in Manitoba, North Dakota and British Columbia would qualify as a match.

You do not need to include the qualifying cache find information when you sign the physical log in the easy-to-find cache container, but when you log your find on this page, you must include the city name and GC number and the dates of your finds of the qualifying caches. We will be checking. Logs that do not document the required finds will have to be deleted.
