Geocache Description:

ATMA brings you a small cache with room for small travel bugs or items. Enjoy!

Parkerplus was celebrating his 75th birthday and eight years of geocaching. We wanted to help celebrate by placing a cache in his honor and what better way to do it than to place it where he can enjoy it also. His first cache hidden was "WELCOME to my PARLOR" - GCG074 - a Virtual on 04/24/2003. It is located downtown and is still active today. It is a favorite spot frequently visited by Houstonians and visitors from all over the world. This cache name is in honor of it.

He has placed many caches along our local hike and bike paths such as Midtown Bike Trail, Off the Benicar Trail, Harrisburg Hike and Bike Trail, Chasing the Goose series in Baytown and the new ones located in the La Porte and Red Bluff areas. We are proud to have the many opportunities to enjoy nature at its best along these trails either by biking or hiking. He also placed MEMORIAL PARK’S ORIGINAL CACHE . Take time to visit these if you haven't done so already.

A few of his virtual caches we found interesting were HOUSTON'S JURASSIC PARK, FIRST INTO THE FIRE MEMORIAL, and THE MEN IN BLUE. We became FRUSTRATED locating a couple of his traditionals, CAPE COD and PICTURE THIS, were you?

Some of our more memorable adventures were doing La Brea Tar Pits, Got Mulch, Bubbles, the Bayou Monster and of course, Squeaky? Many of these caches are no longer active but the cachers who found them will remember the time they spent searching for them and their logs made interesting reading and as they revealed a few adventures and mishaps along the way!

These caches that you have placed, as well as others not mentioned here, have given us a clearer insight of Houston and its history and development; from cable cars, Height's Trolly Line series, to rocket ships, Houston - An Eagle Has Landed!

Thanks for all your hard work in contributing to the geocachers of the area!
