Kennington War Memorial
The Shelter, in the Memorial Gardens was constructed as a memorial to those lost in the Second World War.

I cannot find any other information - which is a shame - it’s a pleasant area and I feel maybe there was once a seat under the shelter
Think the council must have seen this and placed a nice new seat under the shelter - albeit a magnet for the younger residents of Kennington

Temporary cache in place:
The cache is now fixed - hopefully making it safer
