This cache has been placed in honor of my nieces 10th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKAYLA. The cache was started with lots of fun trades and has been created as a fun walk and easy find for everyone. You can and should stay on trails until you are within 40 to 50 feet of the cache. IMPORTANT: If you are not familiar with the trails you should MARK YOUR CAR before you leave so that you can find your way back when finished with the cache.
The cache is hidden in San Souci County Park. I grew up on Long Island and come back often to visit family. I enjoy walking in these woods and appreciate that the woods remain for the enjoyment of many. To find the cache you should FOLLOW TRAILS UNTIL YOU ARE WITHIN 40 to 50 feet of the cache. There is no need to bushwhack, you will only be off the trail for the last 40 feet or so. Interestingly enough, when you get to a "fork in the trail" it doesn't matter which trail you take, either will get you there as long as you continue to look for the next turn in the trail. The cache is off the trail about forty feet and shouldn't be hard to find. The clue is very helpful. Please re hide well; there are a lot of folks using these trails. If you have muggles nearby you might want to wait until the "coast is clear" before you step off into the woods to make your find. Thanks. Have Fun. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKAYLA! Interesting to recognize that this cache has survived a forest fire here in 2014 (a new one was put in place of the remnants) and after a major clean up of the area in 2016 a brand new cache was placed once again.
