Cache is located just off the tree-lined trail at Canadian Point.
Canadian Point holds an important, and often unrecognized, place in the history of Miramichi. During the years of the deportation of the Acadians in the mid-18th century, Canadian Point played a vital role in the survival of the Acadian families.
Across the river at Kethro Lookout, the French operated a military battery, with views down to the mouth of the Miramichi River. This battery was used to warn the settlers - who were in reality, refugees - if the British were on their way. Signals would be sent from Kethro Lookout to runners stationed at Canadian Point, who would then make the trek to the encampments at Beaubears Island and Wilson's Point to warn of a pending assault.
Cache is a small camo’d Lock N Lock. Original contents are: logbook, pencil, pencil sharpener, and ‘muggle card’ (please leave these items in the cache). Original tradable items include: wooden toy block, green die, brown/green toy frog, thimble, and Acadian Travel Bug.
New contents include: new logbook and pencil and a few items for trade.
