FR : Le château d'Orbe a des origines remontant au XIe siècle et a été agrandi vers le milieu du XIIIe siècle. A cette époque-là, le château et la région étaient sous domination bourguignonne. En mai 1475, les Confédérés prirent d'assaut de château, le pillèrent et le détruisirent, malgré une vaillante résistance des Bourguignons.
Seuls quelques vestiges, dont le donjon circulaire et la tour carrée, échappèrent à la destruction totale.
Nous vous proposons donc une petite balade autour de l'esplanade de ce château, à la découverte de l'histoire de ce lieu.

ENG : Orbe's castle's was originally built in the XIth century, and enlarged roughly in the middle of XIIIth century. Back then, the town, castle and region were in the hands of the counts of Burgundy. In May 1475, the Swiss assaulted the castle, took it, ransacked it and destroyed it, despite a valiant burgundian defense.
Only a couple of buildings remain, like the round dungeon and the square tower.
We suggest you take a little stroll around the castle's esplanade, and discover this place's history.
