Google Maps Street View - Downend

This mystery cache gives you the opportunity to virtually move through the streets of Downend and surrounding area using Google Maps Street View, this powerful tool available for Downend since 2009.


Navigation through Google Maps Street View
   With Google Maps Street View, you can move along the streets in two ways:
1. Using your mouse (by clicking on the virtual arrows on the screen);
2. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

The orientation (North, South, East, West) is done by using the compass shown on the left. For example, to align the image to the North, simply drag the "N" up to the top of the compass (North). The same result can also be obtained by dragging the mouse on the picture.

Finally, the easiest way to make a "Zoom in" or "Zoom out" is to click the + or - available below the compass (see picture shown on the left). The "Zoom in" will be useful to clearly read some answers.

Every step virtually teleports you to a well known place in Downend and surrounding area, a place from where you will start and try to find a hint by following these instructions.

A From the edge of the village Downend Road navigate east, towards the village. On your left is a cottage surviving from the Cave estate in Downend. How many people are waiting to cross the road at these traffic lights?  
B Now drive to Downend Cricket Club"> After taking a look around, drive east towards the village.How many green bins are outside the Solicitors?  
C Get your virtual car to where WG Grace was born. Downend House Christchurch Parish Church can be seen behind you. Drive into Salisbury Road. Travel until you reach the Foresters Arms pub on the right. How many people are outside?  
D E F.G Opposite this pub was once a Hat factory though no-one knows exactly where. Transport yourself now to the north of the village to what used to be farmland belonging to the Cave family. Wick Wick What is the number of the Ring Road? Call this DEFG  
H Drive to St Augustines RC Church Boscombe Crescent How many cars are parked to the left of the church?
