Geocache Description:

Small clip-lock container placed in park beside Tallebudgera Creek.

The park is dedicated to a pioneer of the area.
His story is told on a plaque in the park. The area here by the creek was used as a resting place by the teams of horses that pulled the mail and other goods out here in days long gone now.

The park is used by council workers on their smoko breaks. I had to wait till 9.30 am when they finished their mid morning break. There is a free BBQ and toilets that are also very welcome to many travellers along the valley road. The motorway roar is just above you.

Not far down the road is Fleay's Nature Reserve and you can visit the mangroves there without necessarily paying for entrance to the Park. There is a boardwalk through the mangroves which is a great way to see what's in them thar swamps.

This little park where the cache is placed adjoins one of the remaining areas of mangrove swamp and if you grew up in Queensland you know how beautiful it can be. And how full of mosquitoes. Also watch children here because there are fallen trees and broken concrete in the creek bed.

The cache container is small, but you could maybe leave some stamps in it!

Now so you don't go drawing attention to yourselves I'll tell you where the cache is, so listen carefully:

Cache is at back of park but above water line. You can stand out of sight of the road while you retrieve it from its hiding place. It is not on the ground and you may have to stretch a little to get it. But I've made provision for vertically challenged geocachers so look for something to pull on.

Co-ordinates have varied with each of my visits because of tree cover so let me know if co-ords need revision.
You could do this cache at same time as others along the Tallebudgera Creek Road.

Can't keep Aussie Liahona from a new cache if there's a chance of FTF. Well done folks on a very wet soggy night.
