Geocache Description:

This is the second stage of the Signs of another Zombie Outbreak Series. The Zombie Horde are members of the Maryland Geocaching Society.

We highly recommend that this series is done in order from # 1 to # 4.

Congrats to M&JThomas for FTF!

The Department Of Zombie Eradication (DOZE) hot-line receives many tips on a daily basis. You mission is to inspect this area to find any signs of a Zombie presence. While we could mark areas with signs like this:

This would do nothing more than scare the locals and cause mass hysteria. Currently we are trying to find a way of marking an area safe or unsafe for Zombie Hunters but we have yet to come up with a sign that can be agreed upon.

Hunting Tips:

1. First and foremost, don't get bitten. It sounds logical, but it's not as easy as that. Not only are you about to put yourself into an area covered in the undead but you're going looking to put yourself into their space, and thus possibly their teeth.

2. Looks for blood splatters in the area. Sometimes an individual could be mistaken by thinking a red stain on the pavement if from an animal. Look for drag marks.

3. Use your senses! Make sure everything you carry is tied down and makes no noise. Stop frequently to listen, look and smell. Zombies are clumsy and make noise, you just have to listen carefully for them.

4. Absence of animals. Birds and other small animals are hyper-aware of the undead and the lack of sound in an area could be a huge clue to step carefully.

5. Prepare for Long range, mid range and close quarter combat. While a sniper rifle is good for a zombie at 300 yards, a hand gun will be better at 25 feet. Of course if a Zombie sneaks up behind you, a machete or katana would be best.

6. Body parts and bones in an area is a good sign there are Zombies in the area... or lions.

Please report back to DOZE HQ with any information gathered.
