Geocache Description:

The fifth in the Pasta series, which just had to include a micro! Cache is a small container about the size of a film cannister with a more serious attempt at cammo than previous pastas.

Parking is available at S36 47.704 E 174 42.690 and from here you can also catch Pasta 1 on the way down if you haven't already as well as several other cache's in the other direction.

Pastamakers fresh tomato soup

Orzo is a very small style of pasta, often used in soups. This recipe makes a yummy tomato soup made more substantial by adding a little pasta. You can make the orzo fresh by making sheets of pasta and cutting into very small diamonds then drying or simply buy some at the supermarket (and to be honest, in soup you won't really notice the difference).

Ingredients:-

Two or three good sized tomatoes (or if tomatoes are out of season and very expensive, you can use tinned tomatoes and the soup will be almost as good)
One large onion
One or two cloves of garlic (depending on how much you like garlic!)
2 to 3 cups of chicken stock (depends how many people you are feeding)
A couple of handfulls of pasta (Orzo or small sea shells work well)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Some dried herbs - we like oregano and basil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method

Roughly chop the onion, garlic and tomatoes and very gently cook in the oil in a saucepan. Use a very low heat and cover with a lid. Cook for around half an hour until everything has gone pulpy, shaking the pan every now and then to help mix everything up.

Add your herbs and the stock, mix well and simmer for a couple of minutes more. At this point we like to blend the soup using a hand blender (don't wear a white shirt for this!) but you can leave it chunky if you prefer.

Now add your pasta and bring to the boil then turn down the heat and simmer till your pasta is cooked. Check the consistency and add a little more water if you need to.

When ready, serve into bowls and compliment with some nice crusty ciabatta bread, adding salt and pepper to taste.

The cache contains only a log book, you will need to bring your own pen and please be gentle opening and closing the cache so as not to dislodge the cammo.

I'm going to start this one without any more hints and see how it goes. If the tree cover makes life difficult for your GPS (I took about 10 readings and almost all were slightly different), switch to your geo-radar and you should be able to pick the search area.

*********
Updated notes, was back today and got yet another different reading on the GPS but as the cache has been found again I will leave the coords as they are. Please let me know if you find them substantially off and I can check again.

Also added another hint!

Reading a few of the logs it seems that the clue item is causing confusion. For clarity, the clue item is ON the cache and the first three words of the clue are important.
