Solve the puzzle quiz's and you will discover the true location of the lat & long coordinates of the cache and will be able to finish the last cache of the 'Horse Expedition' Cache Series.
You will have to do a little simple research about the history of the Cape Blanco Light House in order to get the coordinates that will help you finish up this cache series.
Ok, so lets start with a simple primer of info:
Cape Blanco Light House is not only in my opinion the most beautiful of all of Oregon's light houses but it is also the Oldest light house, the Highest light house and also the most Westerly point in all of Oregon... all the more reason to come here and visit this beautiful & very, very windy location... and by the way....Yes, it is an excellent place to fly a kite! ( I've seen several people come here just to fly huge kites ).
Its primary function is to warn ships away from reefs, which extended out a long ways from the cape, and to provide a position fix for navigators.
The first person to operate and take care of this light house station was H.B. Burnap. After Burnap completed his keepership of the light house there were two more well known men that both shared keepership for a long period of time, they were James Langlois and James Hughes.
Answer these six simple and easy to find, Cape Blanco Light House, historical questions to help you perform six very simple mathematical problems. Make sure each answer is correct so the end result is correct as well, they are pretty easy questions so don't stress about them:
* * *
1. How long did James Langlois serve as keeper?
procedure: Divide this answer by 2, multiply by 3 & subtract by 21 ='s N degree's
2. How many children did Langlois have?
procedure: Add 44 additional children to the total number of kids that he did actually have ='s N minutes
3. What year was the lighthouse built?
procedure: If you took this year & decided to go back in time 1406 more years to see what the coastline looked like where this light house would eventually be built ='s N seconds
4. How long did James Hughes serve as keeper?
procedure: multiply this answer by 28 then subtract 8 from the first digit in this 3 digit answer ='s W degree's
5. How many children did Hughes have?
procedure: Number of children Hughes had to the 5th power ='s W minutes
6. What year was the Victorian House that Hughes lived in built?
procedure: If you actually succeeded in going back in time like you did in question #3. And thought it was an interesting experience seeing the coastline in a previous period prior to the building of the light house. And are now curious to see what the area where the Hughes House is currently located at looked like 1286 years ago. Then subtract 1286 years from your answer ='s W seconds
* * *
And now you have all of your coordinate numbers to have a complete set of North & West degrees, minutes & seconds... now go get that final cache!
* * * Congratulations to Family Explorer's for getting their 3rd. F.T.F in this four cache series * * *
* * * Very Awesome Job Explorer's * * *
