Um 1236 wurde der Wohnturm von den Herren von Korb - ein
Ministerialiengeschlecht im Dienste der Grafen von Eppan - ungefähr
zur gleichen Zeit wie Boymont erbaut. Später gelangte es als Lehen
in den "Besitz" verschiedener Adelsgeschlechter. Um 1834 wurde
Johann von Putzer Herr der Anlage und erweiterte den Bau auch
prompt. Unter anderem ließ er die Burgkapelle errichten. 1877 wurde
Schloss Korb an den Deutschen Tessmann verkauft. Dessen Sohn Dr.
Friedrich von Tessmann wurde ein bedeutender Tiroler
Geschichtsforscher. Seine beeindruckende Ansammlung von Tirolensien
erging als Geschenk an Südtirol. Daraus entstand, wie wir uns nun
alle denken können, die heutige Landesbibliothek "Dr. Friedrich
Tessmann" in Bozen. 1918 erwarb Anton Dellago den Bau. Sein Sohn
entwickelte daraus einen landwirtschaftlichen Musterbetrieb, ließ
ein Schlosshotel sowie ein Nobelrestaurant darin entstehen. Die
Einrichtungen sind auch heute noch unter der Führung derselben
Familie in Betrieb. Es erübrigt sich beinahe, die Tatsache zu
erwähnen, dass der Besitzer damals auch Bürgermeister von Eppan
wurde.

Eretto nel 1236 dal Signore von Korb, ministeriale dei conti
d'Appiano quasi nello stesso periodo in cui fu edificato anche
Castel Boymont, fu proprietà di varie famiglie nobili. Nel 1834
passò a Johann von Putzer che ampliò l'edificio e fece costruire la
cappella. Nel 1877, Castel Corba fu venduto ai tedeschi Tessmann il
cui figlio, il Dott. Friedrich von Tessmann fu un benemerito
studioso della cultura tirolese. A lui si deve la straordinaria
raccolta bibliotecaria che donò in seguito alla Provincia e che
costituì il fondo principale dell'attuale Biblioteca Provinciale di
Bolzano, "Dott. Friedrich Tessmann" alla quale pensiamo tutti
leggendo questo nome. Nel 1918, la residenza fu acquistata da Anton
Dellago il cui figlio fece della tenuta un'azienda agricola
esemplare e creò un hotel ed un ristorante di gran classe gestito
ancora oggi da questa famiglia. Degno di menzione è il fatto che il
proprietario d'allora divenne anche Sindaco d'Appiano.

History: in 1236 it was the living quarters of the Korb family who
were in service to the Counts of Eppan. This was the time that
Boymont was built. Later it changed hands within several
aristocratic families until Johann von Putzer took it over in 1834
and then promptly extended it and added the chapel. In 1877 Schloss
Korb was sold to the German family Tessmann. The son, Dr. Friedrich
von Tessmann was a well-known historian of Tyrolean history. His
collection of Tyrolean objects was passed on to the country of
South Tyrol and from this, today’s government library was
formed and named after him. In 1918 Anton Dellago bought the
building and his son formed a model agricultural business and
opened a castle hotel and an elegant restaurant. The hotel is still
run by the same family today.
