This cache is located in Bernheim Forest. .$10..00 per car donation requested. Members are always free. Located off interstate I65 at exit 112. Only 1/2 mile from interstate. For more information log on to www.bernheim.org. Park at the Education Center. trail is located behind the Education Center and to the far right. it is an easy and enjoyable path to walk with many benches to simply rest and relax. When. you find this cache, make sure there are no onlookers please.
We placed this cache to celebrate the 10th anniversary of geocaching. It is a medium plastic small tupperware container with cammo tape on it and placed off trail in the woods and contains many colorful geocaching buttons that you can wear on your hiking jacket, sweatshirt, T-shirt or lanyard. please be kind and make sure the lid is tightly placed on the Tupperware and placed back where you found it.
“Isaac W. Bernheim (1848-1945) established Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest in 1929. Mr. Bernheim was a German immigrant who settled in Kentucky. From a humble beginning as a peddler, he became successful distilling bourbon whiskey, which he sold under the I.W. Harper brand. Grateful for his good fortune, he bought and founded Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest as a gift to the people of Kentucky. In 1992, the Kentucky legislature designated Bernheim Kentucky’s official arboretum. This cache has been approved by Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. Bernheim has established guidelines and a permitting process for this type of activity.
