TMP Quest 1 (The Discovery) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TeamMagicParrot: Sadly, this one is done. Thanks to all who participated in the TMP Quest. Realizing with a busier schedule now I'm not able to maintain as many of these, and would like to open up the area to newer caches.

Geocache Description:

The beginning of the TMP Quest!

The TMP Quest has begun! This quest will be many caches, that will be placed over a period of time. In short, this cache series is somewhat similar to buzzy_cacher's Bond...James Bond Multi (my favorite cache thus far), and the It's A Small World series, started by a group of users, and added onto by other users (myself included). Also, if you liked Supply Field cache, you will enjoy this one even more, although it is more challenging.

Congrats to Team Geofrog on FTF!

This series leads up to one cache that will be a special final. You can do the caches in whatever order you choose, (however I will be placing them in order, over time), and the final will be placed last. To attempt the final, a puzzle cache, you must have done all the other TMP Quest caches in the past. This will be a fun and interesting series! Good luck!

For parking spots, which will be hard to find, please check the cache info.

This area is virtually unknown, I have never seen people walk in it before. In return, I hope that you only tell of it's location to cachers, friends and family, to keep the area free of lots of people. Very few commuters might walk through here, but again, the area is pristinely clean of litter and hoodlums. The small creek has some wildlife/microorganisms in it (from a 3rd grade science project). Please be carefully as to not trip and fall to the side and into the creek! Also, if you have smaller kids, the walk up to GZ can be very steep, so just common sense and caution is advised!

This area is however visible to neighboring houses and quite close as well. I ask in respect to the kind people nearby, that you attempt not to do a night cache here, and please keep the volume to a respectable level. If not, we risk the chance of the cache being muggled, or the neighbors calling the police on some poor cacher mistaken for a burglar!

I will not post pictures of the entrance until after FTF, to once again increase the thrill of finding it. Parking area number 1, the suggested parking, will virtually have little view of the entrance to the path to the cache, however it is the quicker/more enjoyable way. Careful while crossing Crane Road though!

Parking area number 2 will get you to the cache quickly as well, but the entrance will be very easy to see, and in my opinion, less of a thrill to find.

Coords I believe will be close enough, however reception will be a little harder to get here. There are many areas where it could be.

For any questions/hints/comments email TMP!

THE STORY BEGINS

The story starts out as Burder Burd, an archaeologist who wants to find something out, but never happens to stumble upon anything. Having gone back to his home, he feels he might consider something else in life.

Yet, one day, Burder goes for a brisk walk, and while crossing a road, finds a strange area he's never seen before. Burder goes into the area, a winding, steep path, that while near a village and busy roads, is virtually unseen. As Burder goes further down the path, it appears some sort of asteroid had hit the area millions of years ago, and the impact created a nearby stream, and a large rock was left behind. Burder inspects the rock, and unknowingly finds a small scroll, of a strange substance, which seems foreign to our world.....

Burder discovers that it is a story and map from some sort of extra-terrestrial civilization, and though mostly incomprehensible, he plans for an all-nighter solving this puzzle on his own. While walking back home, he ponders- what could this mean?

GOOD LUCK, and Happy Caching!
