Dam Buster Traditional Cache
Bristracker: this cache has been inaccessible for many months following the heavy rains early this year so I have decided to archive it and save geocachers any wasted trips to the area
the cache can be revived if and when the area is again open to traffic

Clip lock container placed close to road near entry to dam in Gold Coast hinterland.
A dam is a majestic thing. The Little Nerang Dam is not well known among coast dwellers.
You do not need to enter the dam precincts to find this cache. It is placed near the final cleared parking area outside the gates.
PLEASE NOTE: cachers report finding the gates "closed" earlier than 4pm. It may be simply a prank by muggles so don't be put off - try the gate first.
When this cache was placed our dams were full with more rain expected. If you visit at such a time you may see water spilling over the dam wall.
As you drive along the approach road to the dam you may glimpse, through the trees, water running over river rocks way down below.
At the viewing area there is a pleasant park with multiple barbecues, toilet facilities, and sheltered picnic tables. Note opening hours.
PLEASE NOTE OPENING HOURS: 7am - 4pm
Little Nerang Dam is open 7am to 4pm only. If you wish to visit the dam, get there in good time. Even if the gate appears to have been closed earlier, try it and see - it may just be a prank by local muggles.
