Team FMA co-leader A has long despaired about the number of caches
hidden on Huron River islands. Sure, there are plenty of canoe
liveries around, and the Huron is definitely paddle friendly. A
sees kayakers and canoeists all the time gliding along the still
waters or navigating the small rapids.
Unfortunately, A is more the white-water rapids kind of paddler.
Canoes and kayaks tremble in fear when she approaches and, should
she deem to ride in one, they tend to capsize. Out of fear, of
course. Never due to A's paddling skills.
This has not kept A from wondering how on earth to get to those
island caches. She and team member N finally went after one... by
wading. The water was cool and chest high, with a good current, but
definitely wadeable. So the gears began turning in A's scheming
mind, and thus was born Wade a Minute!
This cache is approachable by canoe or kayak, for those who want
to do island caches the traditional way. It's also available to
those who wish to wade (then again, so are all the island caches,
we suppose). Once you're on the island, just follow the coordinates
to the cache! But wade a minute... would it really be that
easy?
Please bring a pen or pencil, as there is no room for one in the
cache. Please also put the cache back where you found it so that
others can enjoy the search. This was designed to be winter
friendly as well, but that of course depends on what you call
"friendly." Please let us know when the logsheet is full!
Congratulations to
tessandfriends on their FTF!
