Der Latschensee, ist ein
Hochmoorsee im Bayerischen Wald ohne Abfluss. Im Süden schließt das
Latschenfilz mit seinen Trockenrasen an. Von Buchenau führt vom
Wanderparkplatz ein stetig ansteigender gut ausgeschildeter
Wanderweg über den Kohlschachten und dem Hochschachten zum
See.
The lake
"Latschensee" is a lake in the upland moor of the "Bayerischen
Wald" without any discharge. At the south end follows the
"Latschenfilz" with its xeroplant grassland. From Buchenau follow a
well signposted trekking route over the "Kohlschachten" and
"Hochschachten" to the lake
Der Latschensee hat in etwa
eine Fläche von 0,1 ha damit ist er der größte Moorsee auf der
bayerischen Seite. Der See liegt etwa auf einer Höhe von 1150
Metern und entwickelte sich nach der letzten Eiszeit. Diese begann
vor ca. 18.000 und endete vor ca. 11.000 Jahren. Da der Bayerische
Wald vornehmlich aus Granitgestein besteht, konnte das vorhandene
Quellwasser und die nährstoffarmen Niederschläge auf dem
Gebirgsplateau nicht versickern, dadurch war die Menge des
vorhandenen Wassers stets größer als der Wasserverlust durch
Verdunstung.
Einen Abfluss besitzt der See nicht.
Durch ein feuchtes ausgeglichenes Klima konnte das Hochmoor über
die Jahrtausende wachsen. Der Torf entsteht durch wurzellose
Torfmoose, die nur sehr langsam in die Höhe wachsen, während der
ältere Teil darunter unter den dadurch entstehenden Luftabschluss
vertorft und damit nur wenige Millimeter im Jahr
wächst.
The "Latschensee"
has only a area of about 0.1 hectare, but the biggest upland moor
lake at the Bavarian side. The lake has a altitude of about 1150
metres and raised after the last iceage. These starts at about
18.000 years and ends at about 11.000 years ago. At the reason that
the mountains of the bavarian forrest implies mostly granite stone,
the existing spring water and the nutrient-poor precipitations
couldn´t seep away. For that case the available water was always
more than the water deficit caused on evaporation. The lake has no
effluent. In Case of a moistly and balanced clima, the upland moor
could grow for thousand of years. The turf raised from rootless
sphagnums, which grow very slowly. The lower side under the surface
shape turf without Oxygen and grows only some millimetres a
year.
Der See ist etwa 2 Meter tief,
mit darunterliegenden Schichten aus 3 bis 4 Meter Moorschlamm. Im
Wasser gibt es weder Frösche noch Fische, lediglich einige
Spezialisten wie Wasserläufer und die große Moorlibelle leben dort.
Am Ufer wachsen typische Hochmoorpflanzen wie Sonnentau, Moosbeere
und Rosmarinheide.
The lake has a
depth of about 2 metres and a subsurface of 3 to 4 metres moor mud.
In the water are no frogs and fishes, only some specialists like
water striders and the big moor dragonfly. Behind the waterside
grow typical upland moor plants like the sundew, checkerberry and
the rosmarin heather.

angegeben Stelle Richtung See. Logs ohne Foto werden ohne Rückfrage

background is also assumption for logging, logs without pictures
will be deleted without conultation!
