Geocache Description:

Cache is located in the Carluke White Church Cemetery. There is plenty of parking available around the cemetery, with the best spot being off of Shaver Road. You can also park across the road at the very popular Apple Orchard.

Cache is a bison tube. It contains only a log, so you will have to bring your own writing utensil. Also, please only sign the log with initials, and it may be wise to also bring tweezers. Here is a bit about this cemetery, courtesy of the Fieldcote Museum: The earliest recorded internment is in 1831. There is a large stone marked "O'Hara" (see pic). The stone was made by a Simcoe Company who made mistakes with information when the stone was made. When approached by the family, the company refused to make the requested changes. Late one night, a group of neighbours loaded up the monument on a wagon and took off for Simcoe, stopping at every pub along the way but arriving at the courthouse early the next morning. When they went to see the judge, he told them he couldn't help them without seeing the stone. "Me Honour, let us show you." They promptly went out to the wagon and carried the monument into the court. They won the case. The monument was replaced with a new one. Congratulations To Foam Follower on the FTF!!
