Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon.

If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it re-listed. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

Glenn

Geocache Description:

Your efforts will be through a brief tour of a small park near downtown Kansas City called Case Park. The park name plus the date anomaly when we placed it 10/10/10 give the cache its name. (Yes we were there at 10:10 AM too!)

This is our first cache and hopefully it leads to many more. I tried to be diverse in clues and wanted to make it challenging but something obtainable. Any feedback from new cachers to seasoned veterans is welcome. The rating came from the form they have on here and may need adjustment but the terrain IS hard so use extreme caution please.

The ammo can you seek has an interesting story. I was hunting for a geocache several miles from here (GC9C39) when I happened upon this container which had been archived and lost for almost 5 years! With that owner’s permission I am giving it a new life here. All of the content from the cache as I found it plus the log book are still intact. I have added some newer swag too so it’s pretty well stocked.

The coordinates listed will help you solve some of the variables for the final location. PLEASE NOTE: this park is near the Northwest corner of the downtown loop, under no circumstances should any part of this require you to park on or approach from the interstate.

Cache is at N 39 A.BCD W 94 EF.GHI

A is the number of people in the largest statue in the park plus the number of swings on the playground minus one.

B is the 4th digit of the year seen on a corner stone.

C and D are calculated by reading the sign at the posted coordinates then adding up all the numbers. The answer is 4 digits represented with the last 2 as C and D. (aka xxCD)

E is the number that appears in the title of the cache that this container originated at.

F and G are calculated by taking the individual digits from the building nearest the playground and multiplying them by each other. For example if its 3 digits you would take the first digit times the second and that result times the third. Your answer is F and G respectively.

H is the generation qualifier of the French King mentioned on one of the signs minus a large Roman numerals seen on a building in the distance minus 2.

I is the year Clark supervised the construction of Fort Osage minus the year Lewis and Clark first arrived at this spot.

Most but not all answers can be found in the park.

Final coordinates are an average from an HTC Evo using geobeagle, a Colorado 400t and a Garmon nuvi. If you find them to be inaccurate please advise.

This would be a great opportunity to CITO, I removed a whole bag of trash myself when setting this out.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed the cache.
