The Clangers meet at Lincoln University Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Imp: With a foot of snow laying in Lincoln, the Clangers are off to find the Soup Dragon and then find a nice place to hide for the winter period!

I am sure they will return next year, when it's a bit hotter.

Thanks to all who supported this event and clanged away.

Geocache Description:

Flash  Event!!

The Clangers meet at Lincoln University.

Flash mob (FLASH mawb) n. A large group of people who gather in a usually predetermined location, perform some brief action, and then quickly disperse. —v., —adj.

This event is only 15 minutes long!!! You MUST be present and drop a log sheet into the can during this time to claim the event.

At precisely 14.30 GMT on Saturday, November 6th 2010, a whistle will blow and Geocachers will converge on the above coordinates from dark corners, behind lamp posts, hidden allies and other inconspicuous places. Each holding a piece of string, which in turn is attached to an empty can or two (A soup can for example). Don't forget to drag it over the kerbs and pavement areas to ensure a brilliant sound effect. The Soup Dragon will be proud of you! (More than one can is permitted, but all must be taken home after).

Arriving at GZ, we will place in the opened ammo can that has been provided a log sheet. Please bring your own (postcard size log) with your caching name clearly written on it. This log will be proof of your attendance to the Flash Meet and only the received logs will be permitted to claim the event cache.

At 14.35 GMT Trackables and coins can be exchanged. (Don't forget to log them in to the event and remove them within 24 hours after it).

At 14.40 GMT One (1) name will be drawn from the can. That person will be awarded the FTF honours for the event.

At 14.41 GMT Its a quick photo opportunity and then prepare for the finale.

To enable a precise ending for this Flash Event at 14.45 GMT we will prepare to leave the area just 15 seconds early (that's when the whistle blows!.. All Geocachers will of course be dragging their cans behind them. Please do not leave in any orderly fashion as it is intended that the mugglers watching us are completely bemused. Please depart into every direction possible. Dragging of tin-cans to cease in exactly 15 seconds at the precise time of 14.45 GMT when all the events will end.

Knitted jumpers and dustbin lids optional.

This event will be followed by a get together outside The Shed just  30 yds away a few minutes later, so if you want to have a chat and a coffee, we will see you there.

A few new geocaches will be set out on the day, so keep an eye out for them.

Children are welcome  See you there !!!
