Please take your time to enjoy the one of a kind tributes to one of the local area's claims to fame. You cannot Google the answers to the questions below, you have to visit the mystery cache to solve coordinates of the actual site. Actual cache is located in a closed after dark area.
In 2011, the US Navy will celebrate its Centennial of Naval Aviation! This cache is intended to create awareness of an event that thrust Hampton Roads into the world's spotlight when Eugene Ely piloted the first launch of an aircraft from the USS Birmingham, on November 14th, 1910. Most locals know that we live in the hub of east coast Naval Aviation, and that we support or observe all phases of its operations daily. But few realize the very first time an aircraft took off from a ship happened in their own backyard, or that there's a monument to the implications of that fateful day located equally close by. Thank you ANA. www.hrana.org
