Schleuningsteine
DEUTSCH:
Die Schleuningsteine sind Basaltklippen im Vogelsberg! Sie entstanden bei einem Vulkanausbruch als das flüssige Magma aus dem Erdinneren austrat und an der Oberfläche erstarrte.
Die hier vorgefundenen Klippen bestehen aus Basanit mit rotbraunen bis schwarzgrauen Farbzeichnungen. Das Gestein ist in seiner Beschaffenheit ausgesprochen hart und dadurch sehr beständig gegen Witterungseinflüsse. Auch strenger Frost kann an ihm nicht viel ausrichten. Aufgrund dieser Eigenschaften wird Basanit genau wie Basalt auch, im Straßen- und Wegebau, in der Betonindustrie, sowie im Gleis- und Wasserbau eingesetzt.
Um diesen Cache zu loggen, beantworte mir bitte folgende Fragen per Mail:
1. Wie hoch sind die Klippen ca. in Metern?
2. Welche Höhe zeigt Dein GPS am Fuß der Schleuningsteine?
3. Wem haben diese Steine ihren Namen zu verdanken?
Es wäre schön, wenn Du Deinem Logeintrag ein Foto von Dir und/oder Deinem GPS an der Location beifügen würdest.
ENGLISH:
The "Schleuningsteine" are basalt cliffs in the "Vogelsberg"! They originated with a volcano eruption as the liquid magma from him To interiors of the earth resigned and in the surface solidified.
The cliffs found here exist of Basanit with red-brown to black-grey colour drawings. The rock is hard in his state really and thereby very continuously against effects of the weather. Also strict frost cannot aim in him a lot. On account of these qualities Basanit is used exactly like basalt also, in the street construction and road construction, in the concrete industry, as well as in the rail construction and hydraulic engineering.

1. How high are the cliffs approx. in metres?
2. Which height shows your GPS on the foot of the Schleuningsteine?
3. To whom have these stones her name to owe?
