Geocache Description:


The posted coordinates will take you to St. Patrick’s Cemetery and church in the Daviess County crossroad town of Corning. The old Catholic church and rectory building are still standing but are rapidly falling into a sad state of condition. The parish was founded in 1840 and designated chapel in 1997 which means the church and rectory are no longer being actively used.

The cache is not located near any of the buildings nor any gravestones. Please park behind the church in the small graveled area, do not attempt to drive into the cemetery. You are looking for a small jar with screw on top containing only a water resistant logbook. Please bring a pen as pencils do not work well with these water resistant logs. Please, be respectful and no night caching, there are neighbors that do have a fairly good view of the cemetery.
