Geocache Description:

Cache is on the larger size of the medium rating. It is along the coast trail south of Simpson Cove in Shore Acres State Park.

The terrain is generally flat, but not wheel chair accessible.

Back in the day when Simpson owned the grounds of Shore Acres, he dabbled in the experimental fast growing hardwood tree known as the KMX Pine...a creation of man. The KMX Pine is a cross between the Knobcone and Monterey Pine. "K" stands for Knobcone ~ "M" stands for Monterey ~ "X" stands for cross. Simpson had a test garden growing south of the botanical gardens. Today the 50 plus trees stand a good 40 feet tall. They can even be seen growing in a straight line from Google satelite.

After finding the cache, take the time to explore further into the forest, the home of this rarely known tree line.

Be careful not to step on the KMX seedlings sprouting up around the base of the tree that is hiding the cache.

The Cache container is LARGE enough to house large trade items. Make sure you put the BARK back where you found it.
