Geocache Description:

2nd Sunday Kentucky Event was held on 10/10/10. 117 Counties out of 120 Counties across the state of Kentucky participated. Carlisle County was one that did participate.

2nd Sunday Kentucky (visit link) is an annual state-wide event that encourages all forms of physical activities within the local communities and is designed to get Kentuckians moving. We left this cache in honor of the event. Attendance at the event on 10/10/10 is not necessary to find this geocache."

Carlisle County was involved in this event thru the University of Kentucky Extension Office. Front Street was closed off for the afternoon activities. Activities included Inflatable Jumpers, A biking area, Parachute Games, Walking area, Hoopercise, Geocaching, Corn Hole and “the Bike Man”. This was the first year for this event in Carlisle. 4-H had several GPS units that were demonstrated how to use and explained Geocaching. The people could check out the GPS units and give it a try. We had several caches down Front Street set up for this demonstration. 4-H hopes that there will be several new Geocachers from this event.

The cache is located in downtown Bardwell, This is the county seat of Carlisle County. Like a lot of the small towns it has lost a lot of business to the bigger towns. It was a good thing to see Front Street busy again on Second Sunday.
