Boomanoomana South School

Welcome to my 32st cache... I have driven past this spot on many occasions, and finally decided to put a cache there. Placed in preparation for the Yarrawonga Meet, Greet and Eat 2010.

As the sign says, "The Boomanoomana South School was started in September 1936. The school saw its first pupils in 1937, and by 1938 had 30 students. The school ran for many years, however closed on the 19th of June 1952 and was moved to Wakool.

The sign provides much more information.

The Puzzle...

It is a simple puzzle really.... There is a second set of information at the site, in the form of a brass plaque on a granite pillar. On that plaque you will see some dates that teachers were at the school. There were four different teachers. The two you will be interested in are:

George Little (Year = ABCD) Raymond Sam (Year = EFGH)

The cache is therefore at

S S 35° 55.(D-2)(A)(C-1)

E 145° 44.(H)(B-9)(D)

Told you it was pretty easy. I just wanted to bring you to this lovely piece of local history, which i'm sure not many knew about.

Cheers and happy caching.
