Pondo Shade Traditional Cache

Come find a regular cache at Smith Rock State Park, at an elevation of 2660'.
Parking at Smith Rock State Park will cost $5 or nothing if you have an annual pass ($30). From the parking area you will have to descend to the Crooked River but then the walking will be level and easy. After crossing the bridge take the trail less traveled by turning right and staying along the river, it's only .37 from the bridge. Find the cache, then sit on the bench to check it out, hopefully muggles (park gets 500,000+ visits a year) walking by won't take much notice. Be sure to put it back and cover well with the needles or it won't last long. Look for the biggest, lowest limb, the cache will be on the ground under the needles. Dogs must be on a leash in the park.
Take the time to watch the climbers or just enjoy the river and the rocks.
