At a little over 12,000 feet elevation, this
cache site is on the ridge between the headwaters of Oil Creek to
the east and Horsethief Park to the west. From the parking area at
the Horsethief Falls Trailhead, expect a strenuous hike with
elevation gain of about 2,500 feet.
When placing the cache, I hiked up the Cairn
Trail (704C) around the north side of Sentinel Point to
Sentinel's Foot and
Sentinel Point Cache, headed south down the ridge to place this
cache, continued on to
View from my Cabin, then descended straight down to Horsethief
Falls, where I met the trail - about 8 miles round-trip.
