In 1986 a major slip occurred at Broad Bay. The slip threatened to take ot underlying water and sewage pipes for the Otago peninsula. A memorial seat has been placed here to recognise the major restoration of the area, and the significant planting of the area by the DCC and the volunteer organisation, STOP(Save the Otago Peninsula )
Safe parking is available close to the site. Cross the fence using the style and follow your nose about 100 meters to the site. Once you have located the memorial site, and read the information blurb, turn 45 degress to your left and follow the track while slowly climbing up hill.total elevation 23m Stay on the track, it will lead you back to your vehicle.The cache is located approx 3 meters off the track.
