Geocache Description:

If you are visiting Kalsoy this walk is really worth doing. It will take you 1-1,5 hour to walk to the northen end of Kalsoy and back. The distance one way is approximately 1,6 km.

When you are at the lighthouse the views are magnificent. To the east you can see parts of Kunoy, Bordoy and the village Viðareiði and the sea cliff Enniberg on Vidoy. And to the west the village Gjøgv and the rock stacks Risin and Kellingin.


When you have arrived at Trøllanes walk along the paved road heading north. Follow the path and go through the red gate and continue up the hill. The 800 meter high peak in front is called Borgarin, make sure that you walk in its east side.
After about 500meters the ground levels out and you will see several remnants of old sheep shelters made out of stones as you walk further north.
After another 500 meters the ground starts to slope down. Follow the small sheep tracks to the left and you will soon see the lighthouse up at the hill.

If you are lucky there will be some ravens at he cliffs around Kallur. During the summer months lots of sea birds nest at the vertical cliffs and sheeps graze on the grass.
