Geocache Description:

The Cavehill Cache Trail takes you from Belfast Castle to the caves via a less used route through deciduous woodland.

Cache #2 is near the Volunteers Well, site of the great Easter Monday fair that was a popular event for the people of Belfast and around until the mid 19th century. This part of the hill was once farmland, but was planted with trees in the 1880s by the 8th earl of Shaftesbury, then owner of Belfast Castle.

The cache is a medium-sized tablock box with a logbook and some swaps in a camo bag, and is located not far from one of the paved paths through the park.
