Geocache Description:

The Cardinal's Cache is located in Hanover, Ma. A large parking lot is just off Rt. 53. with ample public parking. A small hill with stairs and also walkways lead to the top where the cache entrance path is located. No thick woods or wet here. You'll enjoy this one.

This cache is named after the late Richard Cardinal Cushing, who is buried under the alter in the small chapel on the hill. The chapel was a gift from Italy and all the stones were cut from a quarry there. The chapel was assembled, numbered and taken apart then shipped by boat to Boston. Frank Tarzia rebuilt the chapel where it now stands. It has been declared a National Shrine. The cache is a lid lock round tupperware type container. We have put 5 gold coins with the Cardinal on them for the first 5 to find. From time to time we will drop a Cardinal coin back in the cache.
