The Gusher Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Carpfisher: I have had a series of problems with maintaining this cache, so have decided that as I get older I am finding it more difficult to check and keep this cache and its elaborate camouflage in good order. As I age, I want to reduce the number of active caches that I own and this is one of the chosen to be archived.

Geocache Description:

The Gusher was the local nickname for on old steam railway engine that used to work between Daventry and Braunston. A lot of the line out of the Daventry railway station was a long slow incline up which the locomotive would work hard, gushing out clouds of steam. So in memory of those long gone days I have laid down my first Cache in a small tree lined cutting that the train used to pass through on its way.
The old railway line has since been surfaced and “tidied up” and is now a popular walk or cycle ride in and out of Daventry complete with street lighting.
The Cache is home made and contains only a log book so you will need to bring your own pen. It is hidden on the embankment between the path and Daneholme park and access is along the railway bank, with a terrain rating of 2 Parking at N52° 16,107’ W01°09,643’.
As the GPS is difficult under the trees I have given this a difficullty rating of 3. Watch out for muggles.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GROUNDSMAN FOR FTF. BOL with the numbers
