On the hillside above Barnes Lake. This cache can be reached from two different locations.
The terrain is listed as a 4 if you are hiking to the cache from the first parking spot but would be a 3 if hiking from the second parking spot. (see long description for co-ords).
This is a cache hidden on the hillside above Barnes Lake and gives you a good view of the lake and the roofing gravel quarry off to your left. There are two spots that you can reach this cache from. The first one is 875 m from the cache and the second one can be reached if you have a high clearance vehicle, AWD, or 4-wheel drive. The cache is 215 m from the second parking spot.
The co-ords for the first parking spot are N 50^ 42.415 W121^ 14.444. There is a cattle gate here to the left that you can go through to start your hike to the cache. Please make sure you close the gate after you go through.
If you drive through the gate, (again closing it after you are through), you can drive as far as the first fence that you come to. There is a passage through the fence that has a cattleguard.
Turn to your left BEFORE you go through this fence. There is somewhat of a road going up the hill to a spot just before the hill gets very steep. The co-ords for this second parking spot are N 50^ 42.282 W 121^ 15.253. (We have an AWD SUV and had no trouble getting to this spot). The view from this second parking spot is fantastic and you can see all the way to Cache Creek as well as some of the farms that surround us.
