Still To Close Traditional Cache

You will need to get to what I call "the top of the island". After a moderate ascent to the high ground you'll find gently rolling terrain. Nothing that a normal healthy cacher can't handle.

DO NOT LOOK FOR THIS CACHE ON OR AFTER July 4, 2013.

My intentions are to remove this cache, clean it out, re-stock it, and deploy it as a new cache somewhere else on Mackinac Island.

This cache will be disabled approximately two weeks prior to the above listed date as a notice of it's pending archiving.

I will be arriving on the island on the above listed date, and will be there for a few days. Depending on several factors, I may not get to every cache that this notice is being posted to. If I do not get to this cache, it will be enabled for normal caching.

Late logging of finds before July 4, 2013 will be allowed. Found it logs with dates on or after July 4, 2013 will be questioned and possibly deleted. If you log late, please use the correct date you found it.

You're not on M-185 any more. This cache is on Mackinac Island's high ground. You'll be typically 100' to 175' higher then M-185. The roads are paved with asphalt and trails are mostly dirt. Be careful while on the dirt trails as rocks and roots can be a problem in some areas. A hybrid mountain bike could be a good choice. I have biked these trails many times and there is a small number of areas where I would get off and walk my bike. The ferry company's charge extra to have your bike transported. It's much cheaper then renting one. Walking the trails is also a good choice. The slow pace makes for more sight seeing chances.

You will be searching for a 6" x 6" x 3" Lock-N-Lock. I glued burlap to this container as camouflage. Please let me know in your log if it is not holding up. This cache is kind of close to the sewage treatment plant, hence it's name. It's not to bad so leave your gas mask at home. Please re-hide as found or better. Please trade fair or don't trade.

I highly recommend picking up an "Mackinac Island Map" from the information booth across the street from the Arnold docks. If the maps are not in the holders on the front of the building, look on the sides of the building. For your convenience and planning, you can view or print the PDF file for the Mackinac Island Map. The one available at the information booth is printed on a glossy paper and holds up fairly well when repeatedly tucked in and out of a pocket or caching bag.

These waypoints can be download as a zipped GPX file here. If I would put these as child waypoints on each cache you would end up with many child waypoints with the same coords but different names. If I put them on a couple a cache pages then you may not download those caches. I would love to hear how this works out for you or if you have any suggestions.
