Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Come out and help us celebrate ledgendary cacher DMFlyer's 6,000
cache finds accomplishment! The event will start at 11:30 am. The
above coordinates will take you to a parking lot. The event will be
at the Gate City Fire Dept. meeting room just across the street.
This will be a potluck lunch so we ask that you would bring a slow
cooker full of your favorite recipe to share for lunch -- soup,
chili, casserole -- whatever you would like to bring. We could also
use chips, dips, appetizers, side dishes, desserts, and drinks as
well. Please include an idea of what you'll bring in your "will
attend" log so that we can update the food list to help everyone
decide what they'll bring. We'll have plates, bowls, napkins, and
plastic ware.
Please bring some SWAG to go in DM's 6K Golden Ammo Box.
Also, do you have any pictures of DMFlyer while caching or just a
picture of you and your group caching? If so, please bring a copy
of the pic(s) and we'll have a photo album there to put the
pictures in. We're going to give the album of pictures to DM to
take home.
DMFlyer has had so many adventures while caching (spotting a bear,
falling in creeks, solving puzzles) that it's hard to come up with
just one caching adventure. DMFlyer likes caches that are the
result of a LONG hike. He usually caches alone, but loves to cache
with other people. He LOVES to help others find caches, and is
always ready to help someone with whatever they need help with, he
also enjoys teaching new cachers the sport. He's a master at
paperless caching. He's a wonderful "Pop" to his eight
grandchildren. Although DMFlyer wasn't born and raised in this
area, he probably knows more local history than a Scott County
native. That knowledge has come through geocaching . . . caches
he's hidden (and researched) and caches he's found. So come on out
to celebrate his 6K accomplishment and listen to some of his
geocaching adventures.
