OK, so again you were thinking this was going to be a nice happy story about birds. Fact is that the last time birds were considered other than as protein choices in the Big House was the Bird Man of Alcatraz. So here is the good news: Since so few have found “Jail Bird” and “Spotted Red Shank”, I was let out on Parole! My Parole Officer, Birder428 was again out of town. My role model, Martha Stewart, was not on TV, which left me with way too much time on my hands. The old tendencies start to take over. Anything can be hidden with creativity and common materials. I called this Wood Stork because a stork resting on one leg sort of reminds me of a key feature here. There is a parking area just off the northbound TSP, about .38 mile north of Rossway Road. The cache is about .5 mile as the wood stork flies from that parking along the Blue trail. You may find that the Stork and the Trail don’t fly in the same direction many times. That is a personal choice on bushwacking vs patience. When my Parole Officer returned, I came clean. We agreed to make this a joint hide. While Birder tends towards the easier hides, Hawk goes for the tough ones. It’s a gift… and a curse. Kudos to those who find this without a hint... we will add one later if needed. Good luck.
