This cache is for my friend
Jennifer (Jenn) from
Team
Jags.
Ever since the first time I met
Jenn and her Mom Karen I have called them friends. They make a
great team and always have smiles on their faces. I have enjoyed
getting to know them and as it turns out, Jenn & I have a few
things in common. Besides our addiction to chewing gum, love for
Geocaching, and the occasional geo-practical joke, we both like to
climb trees. This cache used to be hidden in a giant cottonwood
tree 200 feet to the north at N 37° 33.617 W 097° 17.295. There was
a large branch that you could climb up on and it reached out about
60 feet, and about 20 feet high. The cache was guarded by a scary
looking guardian, with the container held in it's jaws.
Unfortunitly, recent maintenance to this area included removing a
bunch of large trees, and the caches along with them. I have
selected this tree to keep this cache alive, and although not quite
the tree the original one was, it fit's the theme and ratings. This
cache is out in the open so please be stealthy. There are lots of
ATV's and dirt bikes that pass by here so be careful not to get
muggled. The cache is a log only and you will know it when you see
it. Thanks to Frog4peace, I was able to salvage a hint of the
original guardian, and now he keeps watch over this cache too.
Please remember to re-hide it just as you found it or better, Thank
You.
You can park at
the Canoe Launch and either enjoy a nice stroll along the river
walking/biking path that meanders through the woods or simply use
the gravel path along the dike.
