Timber, Cement and Elephants
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Timber, cement and elephants are all part of Railton’s history. This multi will take you on a tour of three large murals featuring these themes which children will enjoy as they collect the information. Enjoy your tour of Railton. The cache is a cammo 200mL Sistema container with log book, pencil and FTF prize.
Located within the town boundry of Railton, this multi can be completed on foot or by driving to each waypoint. Suggest, however, that the third waypoint not be attempted between 8:30am and 11:00am on Sundays as it is in church grounds.
We suggest you start at WP1 - Goliath Cement (S41 20.754 E146 25.368)
• G = half the number of rungs on the ladder
• If the number of people depicted in the mural is XY, then H=X+Y
• J = numner of letters in the name of the artist - 3.
A short walk will now take you to WP2 - Railton’s Great Elephant Race (S41 20.771 E146 25.399)
• A = the number of elephants in the race
• C = the number of trains shown in the mural
• E = the number of tigers in the mural
• K = the sum of the number of times the letter “e” and the letter "o" (upper or lower case), appears on the mural (do not include the artist’s signature and ignore any graffiti)
NOTE: The Elephant Mural was been removed temporarily for refurbishment but has now been returned. The link to the photo of the mural has been removed.
For most, a short car ride will get you to - WP3 Winter’s Sawmill (S41 21.099 E146 24.872)
• B = the number of dogs shown in the mural
• D = the number of swallows close to the lone bullock
• F = the number of woodcutting tools in the sawmill
The cache is located nearby at

We hope you enjoyed this tour of some of Railton's history.
