Felsted Parish is spread as thinly as Marmite: it
is very rural.
It is made up of a small village centre, surrounded by 15
hamlets — thirteen 'Greens' and two 'Ends'. To find the
bonus cache, you must make a tour of these hamlets and collect
a letter at each location. |
Not much to see here. The Green (#10 on the keymap) originally
covered a rather larger area to the southeast across the river,
including the junction now known as ‘Leighs Lodge’, as
can be seen on a huge (10 foot square) 1837 map at the Parish
Council Office. A small part of the old map, covering five of the
'Greens', is reproduced below ...
Remember to collect a letter for the
bonus cache in this series.

If you're finding the caches in numerical order, head SE to
Leighs Lodge junction and turn right along Leez Lane, another of
Felsted's 'Quiet Lanes'.
