Saint Peters Catholic Church, in Omakau, is situated on top of a hill.
The cache should be easy to find.
The church is still used and you are welcome to walk around the outside of most of it. Part of the rear of the church is not accessible as it is fenced off - crossing the fence will put you on private property. The house beside the church also is private property.
Saint Peters Church is one of the best sites to see in Omakau The church is built of red brick and features some wonderful stained glass windows.
Sadly the church is not open for public viewing.
Services are still held regularly on Saturday evenings.
The house beside the church used to be the presbytery (the priests house) but is now a private home and also a bed and breakfast.
