The small atoll of Mashta Island is connected to Key Biscayne by a bridge rebuilt in 1998 by the Village of Key Biscayne to encourage water flow between Hurricane Harbor and Smugglers Cove. “Mashta” is an Egyptian name meaning “home or resting spot by the sea".

This cache brings to you the 50 foot bridge over West Mashta. It's a nice view along the waterway to the bay. Though fishing is prohibited without a permit, there is usually a muggle fisherman hanging out.
