L'edera era nell'antichità uno dei simboli di Dioniso. Una delle tante leggende racconta che l'edera comparve subito dopo la nascita del dio per proteggerlo dal fuoco che bruciava il corpo della madre in seguito ad un fulmine lanciato da Zeus. Per questo motivo i tebani avevano consacrato questa pianta a Dioniso e la chiamavano "perikiosos = avvolgitore di colonne". Ricordate la penna ! The container is suitable to the place that hides it. The ivy was a symbol of Dionysus in ancient times.
