Geocache Description:

This cache is along the Lake Country Oro-Medonte Rail Trail. 28-km multi-use trail follows the abandoned rail line along the west shore of Lake Simcoe. Towns along the trail: Shanty Bay, Oro Station and Hawkestone in the township of Oro-Medonte

History of the area:
Perhaps as long as 2000 years ago the area was populated by Native people, mainly the peaceful Hurons. French explorers, missionaries and fur traders travelled the region beginning in the 1600s.
European settlers began arriving in the 1820s. In 1819 a Black Settlement was established in Oro. The last CN train passed through in September 1996. The abandoned rail line was turned into a rail trail which gives users the opportunity to explore beautiful Oro-Medonte along the way.

This one could be tough to get in the winter...but if you try hard and work hard.. you might be able to get it....
