Geocache Description:


This cache is located at Bennet's Terraqueous Garden. This nature preserve has been formally dedicated as a sanctuary for native plants and animals. It is maintained in its natural condition so that present and future generations can see the Illinois landscape as it appeared in the past. This preserve contains a rare seep community that is perpetually saturated by groundwater that emanates at the base of the Illinois River Bluffs. This cache is located a couple feet off the path that leads to the pond. Parts of the path are pretty steep so make sure you have your hiking boots! Take a moment to enjoy the pretty view of the lake. It is especailly pretty in the fall :-)
