I really enjoyed the 'Lair of the worm' cache by HLD GC189F2 and felt it appropriate to leave a dedication to it.
This is a regular spot for our family to visit. So much so, we got the personalised plate CHLYBN to celebrate how much we like to come down to the beach!
The kids play on the swings, a picnic under the Pohutakawas, a swim, a kayak and maybe some fishing. Enjoy!
Motumaire Island lies about 500m to the north of the Pahia wharf. It contains a
large recorded archaeological site, including a terraced pa, pits and
midden. The island of 3.21ha is registered under
the N.Z Historic Places Act as a wahi tapu. Along with the adjacent
Motumea Island to the north, Motumaire is owned by the Crown and
administered by the Department of Conservation. All three islands are
historic reserves. Motumea Is also contains a recorded pa
archaeological site.
Congratulations to Kiwicouple for FTF in super quick time!
