Go and explore Tehidy woods! This cache is within 100M of a large clearing (The Events Field) close to the North Cliffs Car park. GPS sigal may become weak under the tree canopy so you may need to pace it out!

Tehidy is the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall. Now owned and managed by Cornwall Council as a Country Park, Tehidy has over 9 miles (14.5km) of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods and lakes to explore, together with a café and picnic areas. There are 5 main access points including North Cliffs car park.
The North Cliffs area of the woods is the most affected by the sea. Strong, salty winds have stunted the trees and made them bend away from the prevailing south westerly winds. Some of these majestic beech trees are over 200 years old. Also, look out for the exotic tree species such as the huge monkey puzzle tree and the beautiful Japanese maples.
In the Spring this area is also the best place to see a beautiful bluebell display and the summer evenings are great for bats. Roe deer have even been seen here in the meadow. Autumn brings a huge variety of fungi out in the woods. Look in the events field for fairy rings. With a different type of beauty for every season, Tehidy is an enchanting place to visit all year round.
