Here is where you will begin your journey. What lays beyond your
initial step is entirely up to you. Should you choose to continue
you will experience a world where nature reclaims its own. Once
upon a time this land was owned by the Montrose Brick Company, and
remnants are certainly present, wrapped in vines, thorns, and
trees. Beyond the industrial downfall this location was transformed
into the Montrose Point State Forest with the addition of trails,
bridges, and markers. It's been a long time since any signs of
maintenance on these paths. Although mostly marked, the trails are
now vague and overgrown with the occasional blow-overs blocking
your way. It's not pretty, but perhaps the more it gets used, the
more likely it will be maintained. For now, feel the wrath of
nature reclaiming what humans once disturbed on their quest for
industrialization.
